Tour Plan

Altitude: 2,652m | Walk: 3-4 hours Start with an early morning flight over the Himalayas to Lukla. After meeting your crew, begin a gentle descent into the Dudh Koshi valley, passing Mani stones and prayer flags to reach Phakding.

Altitude: 3,440m | Walk: 6 hours Follow the river through pine forests and cross high suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge. A final steep climb brings you to Namche Bazaar, the colorful Sherpa capital.

Altitude: 3,880m | Walk: 4-5 hours Hike up to the Everest View Hotel for your first clear look at Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam. Continue to the traditional village of Khumjung to visit the monastery and descend to Kyanjuma for the night.

Altitude: 4,040m | Walk: 5-6 hours Leaving the main trail, ascend toward Mong La Pass for spectacular views of Ama Dablam. The trail then drops to Phortse Tenga before climbing steeply through rhododendron and birch forests to Dole.

Altitude: 4,470m | Walk: 4-5 hours The trail climbs steadily along the side of the valley. As the tree line disappears, you are treated to views of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku. You’ll reach the small settlement of Machhermo by lunchtime.

Altitude: 4,790m | Walk: 4-5 hours Ascend a ridge for a view of the Ngozumpa Glacier. The trail then levels out as you pass the first and second lakes, finally arriving at the third lake and the peaceful village of Gokyo.

Altitude: 5,360m (Summit) | Walk: 7-8 hours An early start for the steep climb to the summit of Gokyo Ri. Witness a world-class sunrise over Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. After soaking in the views, descend for breakfast and trek back down to Machhermo.

Altitude: 3,440m | Walk: 6-7 hours Retrace your steps back through Dole and Phortse Tenga. Re-enter the lush forests and enjoy the easier breathing as you descend back to the lively atmosphere of Namche Bazaar.

Altitude: 2,800m | Walk: 7 hours A long but satisfying final day of trekking. Descend the steep Namche hill and cross the suspension bridges one last time as you make your way back to Lukla for a farewell dinner with your team.

Flight: 35 minutes Take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or doing some last-minute souvenir shopping in Thamel.
